River Road Gallery’s art show, “A Tapestry of Color” features the art of Anda Styler. Anda Styler, best known for her New England landscapes will show both her paintings on canvas together with her quilts created in a kaleidoscope of fabric. The show opens with a reception on Saturday, Dec. 3rd from 5 – 8 p.m.
Styler orchestrates strong contrasts of light and color together with notes of brightness. Her eye is attracted by post and beam, clapboard and shingle, and so Styler’s landscapes highlight New England’s homes, barns and gardens.
Styler’s quilts reflect her strong knowledge of color. She creates a swirl of fabric that undulates with movement by simply putting patterns next to each other. “Anda creates these works of art as a way of relaxation and we thought they were such a part of Anda’s artistic personality that we’re showing them alongside her paintings,” explains Roslyn Strizver, director at River Road Gallery.
A graduate of Western Connecticut State University and Parson’s School of Design, Styler has exhibited widely throughout the USA and been featured in several magazines including The Artist Magazine.
River Road Gallery is pleased to showcase new work by Anda Styler in “A Tapestry of Color” which will run through January 7, 2012. River Road Gallery is located at 21 River Road in Wilton Center. Open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm.
